I’m an Australian guy in my mid-40s. A few years ago I was obese, didn’t feel great, and as I was about to become a father for the first time, I decided to do something about my health. So I dieted and exercised and lost a bunch of weight – decided I wanted to look good naked, and started lifting weights.

As a type A personality, I absorbed all the information I could about training, nutrition, muscle building, and let it become an obsession. Along the way, I developed a restrictive eating disorder which I have been struggling with for a couple of years now. It’s impacted my health, my relationships, and just generally made life pretty miserable.

Thankfully, with the help of some fantastic people and online resources, I finally feel like I’m making strides towards recovery, although I’m still a long way from eating and behaving like a normal person. This blog is a way for me to document the process, brain dump some of my thoughts and ideas, and hopefully provide a bit of catharsis. If others read it and it helps them too, then more the better.
